Shira, or Sajjige, an Indian sweet dish (halva) prepared from rava or sajjige (semolina) of wheat.The origin of rava sheera can be traced back to ancient India, where it was called “sooji halwa” and was considered a royal delicacy. According to Indian mythology, the dish was first made for Lord Krishna, a Hindu deity who was known to have a sweet tooth.
